Students Disconnect From Phones and Connect With Nature

By Kyle Oblong

In a recent press release from the Lake Forest Open Lands Association, they emphasized the value of unplugging from the digital world and immersing oneself in nature. The press release speaks of a rewarding experience for eight students from Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep, who participated in a week-long wilderness camping and canoeing adventure at Owakonze, a wilderness outpost managed by our parent organization, the Camping & Education Foundation.

If Cristo Rey St. Martin sounds familiar, it is because they were participated in a canoe build last November with Urban Wilderness. We are very excited to hear that their trip up to the Canadian wilderness was filled with great memories and plenty of learning experiences.
